Beaujolais Nouveau Day
Beaujolais nouveau is a variety of wine produced from the delicious Gamay grapes
that are grown in the Beaujolais area of France. This vintage is so popular that there
can be a bit of a competition to get the first bottles released for sale, which is always
on the third Thursday in November. Part of what makes this wine so unusual is that
under the strict regulations on wine in France, it is able to be sold in the same year in
which the grapes are harvested.
While Beaujolais Nouveau Day was all the rage in the 80s, it went out of popularity
until recent years. We are very into our Gamay grapes and would like to celebrate
this special Thursday in our bar with a range of delicious Beaujolais Nouveau wine
for you to try. For £10, you’ll have the chance to try a few tasters and then receive a
glass of your favourite.
Our friends from Knotted Vine will be here to tell us about the new vintage – this isn’t
a formal tasting, just an opportunity to celebrate the Beaujolais region with some
tasty wines paired with snacks from our kitchen.
No need to book, simply show up in the bar! Alternatively, book a table in the
restaurant and you can try them with your meal.
